In the winter, weโre guaranteed a few things.
Itโll be raining when we least want it to.
A local postie will still be wearing shorts, no matter how cold it is ๐
And โ unless weโre careful โ condensation will appear in our homes.
While you canโt do anything about the weather (or the postieโs clothing choices), you can take some simple steps to combat condensation.
๐ญ) Use portable dehumidifiers in high-moisture areas like kitchens and bathrooms.ย
๐ฎ) Wipe down your windows each morning to remove condensation and prevent mould growth.
๐ฏ) Open your windows for at least 15 minutes daily to improve ventilation.
๐ฐ) Maintain a consistently warm indoor temperature to prevent surfaces getting cold and condensation forming.
๐ฑ) Ensure there is a gap of at least two inches between your furniture and external walls to allow the air to circulate.ย
๐ฒ) When cooking or showering, use the extractor fan.ย
๐ณ) If you have to dry wet clothes indoors, do so in well-ventilated areas.
